W pierwszej połowie 2012 roku do sprzedaży trafi nowy model BMW – seria 6 Gran Coupe. Pierwsze w historii BMW auto takiego typu będzie mocną konkurencją dla Mercedesa CLS i Audi A7.
Klienci do wyboru będą mieli trzy doładowane silniki. Benzynowe jednostki to 3-litrowa, rzędowa szóstka o mocy 320 KM i maksymalnym momencie obrotowym w wysokości 450 Nm, oznaczenie wersji z tym silnikiem to 640i. Drugi z benzynowej gamy to V8 o pojemności 4,4-litra, dysponujący mocą 450 KM i pokaźnym momentem obrotowym o wartości 650 Nm, o zastosowaniu tego silnika powie nam oznaczenie 650i. Jednostka wysokoprężna to także 3-litrowa, rzędowa szóstka generująca 313 KM mocy i aż 630 Nm, diesel będzie nosił oznaczenie 640d.
Najmocniejsza odmiana Gran Coupe pojawi się pod koniec przyszłego roku. Będzie to oczywiście wersja M, napędzana przez mocarną, podwójnie doładowaną jednostkę V8 o mocy 550 KM.

Wszystkie wersje silnikowe standardowo wyposażone będą w ośmiostopniową, automatyczną skrzynię biegów z podwójnym sprzęgłem, dostępny będzie również napęd na cztery koła.
Osiągi dla 3-litrowych wersji, benzynowej jak i dieslowskiej, to 5,4 sekundy do „setki” oraz ograniczona do 250 km/h prędkość maksymalna. Jednostka V8 może rozpędzić nową „szóstkę” w 4,6 sekundy do 100 km/h.
Dane dotyczące masy własnej nie są jeszcze znane. Luksusowe coupe naszpikowane gadżetami i elektroniką z pewnością trzyma wagę o okolicach dwóch ton.
Nowy model BMW może pomieścić cztery dorosłe osoby, Gran Coupe jest o 112 mm dłuższe niż wersja 6 Coupe i Cabrio. Dla poprawienia widoczności i komfortu jazdy siedzenia są zamontowane wyżej niż w wersji dwudrzwiowej. Gran Coupe posiada bagażnik o pojemności 460 litrów, czyli o 60 mniej niż oferuje „piątka” sedan.
Ceny nie zostały jeszcze podane. Oficjalna prezentacja BMW 6 Gran Coupe odbędzie się w marcu przyszłego roku na salonie samochodowym w Genewie, wtedy producent powinien przedstawić wszystkie szczegóły dotyczące tego modelu.(mw)

I dont see how its lamborghini front end it looks alot like teh X6ms pionengs. Its probably not a production model but just a thinly veiled view of the next 6 series. Overall its a gorgeous car it looks more like a gorgeous sedan than a four door coupe though, as the only REAL 4 door coupe in my opinion is the Rapide as it is literally a DB9 with 4 doors, and this BMW isnt as dramatic as the CLS is but not as boring as the A7 either
